Busy at Home today

I have a very small washer/dryer in the RV.  It works wonderfully but I have to watch how much I load into it (only 4-5 pounds per load).  And I have to be able to dump the grey tank and have an abundant supply of water.  Today Eric hooked me up with the water and opened the grey so I am doing laundry.  So far I am on load #3.  I baked 12 dozen cookies this morning for the Salvation Army dinner on Tuesday.  We are helping prepare and serve the dinner meal Tuesday.  The ladies of the church provide cookies.  I already baked 1 batch of chocolate chip a few days ago and we took it to Lon’s freezer. This double batch of oatmeal raisin will go to his freezer tomorrow.  Probably one more batch of chocolate chippers.  And the Food Bank is out of food and all churches have asked us to donate canned food.  I was amazed at how little “excess” of canned food I have.  I did get 2 large grocery bags mostly full but I had to really look around for cans.  I guess going to Grabill and Shipshewana and preparing as much as possible from scratch and the fact that we rarely eat from cans are the reason.  Yesterday was a packed day with the grand kids. Kaitlyn had her friend Dakota stay overnight so we had 3 kids with us.  First we all went to the Children’s Museum where they played for 2 hours.  Then to Taco Bell for a quick lunch and on to Safari Charlie’s.  I had never been there before.  It is a large 2 story building with all kinds of areas for kids to climb, slide, bounce, walk in between swinging “punchbags” and play video games.  It was so loud because it was indoors.  And hot.  The poor kids were sweating at the end.  Even Calvin’s hair was plastered down.  Kaitlyn had gymnastics last night.  I bet she slept well.  I know Grandma did.

The kids & us saw this large grass fire the other day while driving by.
